Directions to Amherst College, Boyden Gym and Amherst Public Schools

BY CAR FROM EAST/WEST:

Take I-90 (Mass Turnpike) to Exit 4 (I-91) Take I-91 north to exit 19 (Rte. 9) Take Rte. 9 east to Rte. 116 south These roads intersect at a stoplight at the top of a hill. Most Amherst College buildings are in front of you and on your right; downtown Amherst is on your left.

BY CAR FROM NORTH/SOUTH:

Take I-91 to exit 19 from south, or exit 20 from north (you'll be on Rte. 9 east) Take Rt. 9 east to Rt. 116 south These roads intersect at a stoplight at the top of a hill. Most Amherst College buildings are in front of you and on your right; downtown Amherst is on your left.

BY CAR FROM NORTHEAST:

Take I-95 south to I-495 south Take I-495 south to exit 29B (Rte. 2 west) Take Rte. 2 west to Rte. 202 south Take Rte. 202 south to Amherst Rd. (turn right) Take Amherst Rd. to Rte. 116 south These roads intersect at a stoplight at the top of a hill. You've just driven through downtown Amherst; most Amherst College buildings are in front of you and to the left.

Below is more detailed information about finding this area. To reach the Admission Office:

Follow the driving directions above. When you reach the intersection of Rtes. 9 and 116 (at the top of the hill), take Rte. 116 south away from the Town green. Stay on Rte. 116 for a few blocks before turning left into the circular driveway in front of the Office of Admission. (Note: The Office of Admission and the Athletic Complex share a very large, semicircular driveway. Both ends of this driveway open onto Rte. 116. This is a one-way driveway; cars should enter at the southern point, near the gym, and exit at the northern point, near the Octagon hill. Following the directions above, you will actually go past the Admission Office on your left, then turn left into the driveway and come back.)
 

Amherst Regional Middle School is adjacent to the driveway of the Amherst Regional High School (driving directions below) and is located at 170 Chestnut Street, Amherst, MA 01002.

Directions to Boyden Gym at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst: For Richard F. Garber Field / Boyden Gymnasium (Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Swimming):

From the North: Route 91 South to Exit 25 - At the end of the ramp turn left and follow the road to the intersection - turn right onto Routes 5 & 10 South - go 1 mile, then left onto 116 South, then eight miles to UMass exit - Left at the end of the ramp onto Massachusetts Avenue then proceed to the second set of lights. Take a left onto Commonwealth Avenue. There is a parking lot just past Boyden. Garber Field is behind Boyden.

From the South: Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp and then proceed to the second set of lights. Take a left onto Commonwealth Avenue. There is a parking lot just past Boyden. Garber Field is behind Boyden.

From the East: Mass Pike (Route 90) West to Exit 4 (West Springfield) onto Route 91 North to Exit 19 (Northampton/Amherst) - Right onto Route 9 and go approximately five miles. Take a left onto Route 116 North (across from Staples) and follow for one mile to UMass exit. Take a right off the ramp and then proceed to the second set of lights. Take a left onto Commonwealth Avenue. There is a parking lot just past Boyden. Garber Field is behind Boyden.
